Building the European Health Union together – for better public health in Europe

Vaccines Europe Webinar
The European Health Union (EHU) package proposed by the European Commission has the potential to underpin a joint effort to safeguard and reinforce Europe’s leading role in immunisation, by protecting the EU’s population from the infectious diseases of today and tomorrow. Undeniably, to ensure that this reform reaches its full potential, intensified collaboration between key stakeholders will be vital.
On 8 September 2021, from 14:00-15:00 (CET), Vaccines Europe is hosting a virtual event entitled Building the European Health Union together – for better public health in Europe, where a prominent panel of policymakers and experts will exchange views on how to build robust European health structures, focusing on the potential of prevention and vaccines.
The discussion will cover various issues, including:
- What have we learnt from the COVID-19 crisis for how the EU’s role in public health and vaccination could be improved?
- How can we make sure that the ECDC and EMA are well equipped to effectively respond to cross-border threats?
- What do key stakeholders hope to see reflected in the European Parliament and Council positions on the European Health Union and future role of Europe in public health?
