Vaccines are one of the most effective public health measures since their introduction and widespread use have prevented more diseases and deaths that any other medical treatment. Furthermore, the EU health authorities recognise vaccination to be a key preventive tool and one of the most cost-effective interventions available.
Nevertheless, in recent years debates on attitude towards, and perception of, vaccination have spread. Vaccines Europe is therefore conducting a literature review that aims to understand the general public and Health Professionals’ attitudes towards vaccines and vaccination. The project focuses on identifying public attitudes common to a set of widely used vaccines and analysing the gathered evidence to build a clear picture.
